Door County is part of the Niagara Escarpment. The Niagara Escarpment is a large mass off dolomite that extends into Canada and over to New York. Most people recognize dolomite as “limestone”. LAKESHORES utilizes limestone in many forms to construct retaining walls, free-standing walls, fence lines and other features. LAKESHORES can match existing styles for your home or create one that best fits your need.
Besides using a natural stone for retaining, there are concrete products available that provide a clean and orderly wall. Segmental block are versatile, economical, and can be used in a wide variety of applications
Waterfalls And Other Water Features

LAKESHORES creates water features by designing them to the individual and their property, not from a standard kit. BEWARE the kit!!! Prepackaged kits are everywhere and though the components are excellent to construct a water feature, the attempts at designing a water feature are extremely limited by the individual. The promoted goals are sales and not design.

LAKESHORES currently stocks and has access to a wide variety of zone hardy plant material both native and exotic. Planting design is definitely a personal undertaking; it reflects who you are and what you want in life. Whether you are a gardener at heart or not a planting design can be tailored to you needs and abilities.
Brick & Pavers

What is the difference? Brick are composed of clay. Clay is a natural material that retains its color over the years and conveys a more traditional approach to an outdoor space.
Pavers are composed of concrete and come in a wide variety of shapes and colors. Fading of the color does occur but is not very noticeable.
Both brick and pavers are relatively easy to install; it is the preparation and the detailing that sets LAKESHORES apart from the others.

LAKESHORES can add that extra touch for any commercial space. First impressions are the most important to any business and cannot survive on the building architecture alone.

Lawns

Lawns are a small but often necessary part of Door County landscaping. I typically use lawn to transition from one space to another or as a social space. I do not use lawn just to fill space.
Lighting
Low voltage lighting is a very flexible way to enhance any landscape. Extending the hours of viewing pleasure, creating new visuals through the use of shade and shadow, and also creating increased safety and security for your property are the main benefits associated with lighting.
LAKESHORES landscape & design inc. only uses high quality equipment when designing and installing low voltage lighting. Making your lighting project an investment and not a liability is our main goal; cheap connections, plastic fixtures and poor design will diminish the overall quality of the rest of your landscape project.
Maintenance
LAKESHORES provides maintenance services to all of Door County. If you are in need of a spring clean up to get you on track for the year, mulch to refreshen beds, weekly or monthly care of your property, mowing, or a fall cleanup to end the season, we can tailor a program for you. Our staff is certified to apply herbicides, analyze diseases and insects, and council you on proper fertilization. Maintain your investment and enjoy your time outdoors.
Supplies
LAKESHORES landscape & design inc. is a design/build company and currently does not have a retail outlet. We do have material on site for purchase with no set hours of operation. If you need material please call ahead to ensure someone will be on site to assist you or call for delivery.
Currently LAKESHORES landscape & design inc. has 3 types of bark mulch in stock and a holding nursery that has trees shrubs and perennials. Stop in and see our facilities and display areas.
Irrigation
LAKESHORES has the staff to install several levels of irrigation systems. Irrigation is not in great demand in Door County but it has its place. If the need is there we can custom design and install a system that is right for you and then provide the maintenance services to keep it running.
